American Tom Lehman made his first visit to Mauritius a memorable one by fending off a late challenge from South African David Frost to win the inaugural MCB Tour Championship on the Constance Belle Mare Plage Legend course.

As has been the case so often in the past, the issue was settled over the closing holes and there was the characteristic drama of the final hole.
Frost, winner of the MCB Senior Open 12 months ago, finally hauled himself level with a wonderful curling 20-foot putt for birdie at the 14th.
But when he promptly dropped a shot at the next and then saw Lehman birdie the 16th, the task appeared to be beyond him.
A birdie two at the 17th offered the South African renewed hope, especially given past performances on the par-five 18th.
This time, however, he pulled his shot into trouble on the left and it cost him a stroke to return to the fairway.
His third shot found the heart of the green and now the focus was on Lehman to at least match him.
Lehman played safely up the left and found the green with his approach, so everything depended on the putts.
Frost failed with his birdie attempt, Lehman putted into unmissable territory and the trophy was his.
